Tharpa Choling Monastery, a revered Gelugpa monastery, is majestically situated on a hilltop in Kalimpong, overlooking the majestic Himalayas. The monastery’s rich history dates back to 1912 when it was founded by the illustrious Domo Geshe Rinpoche Ngawang Kalsang.

A spiritual sanctuary where monks and visitors alike gather for prayers, rituals, and the study of Buddhist philosophy. The monastery offers meditation retreats, rituals, and teachings rooted in the profound wisdom of the Gelugpa tradition.

Participate in our various programs, including Tibetan language classes, Buddhism and meditation workshops, and cultural seminars. Join us every Sunday for Tibetan language classes (09:00 am – 10:30 am) and Buddhism and meditation classes (10:30 am – 12:00 pm).
